amen
So much to write- so little time.
This last week or so has been filled with incredible opportunities to witness love in action, and lack of love - or love in -inaction. Sept 11 has come and gone, but has left in its wake a misirable look at right wing Christian fundamentalism. Certainly there must have been hundreds, even thousands of caring, thoughtful and loving Christian works in response to the 9th annniversary of 9/11. However, that which got all the media attention was about a small church planning to burn the Koran.
Why?
A co-worker said she thought the right wingers were trying to get attention for themselves. Doesn't the right wing represent God's love?
Obviously, i cannot and do not speak for anyone other than myself, but as a Christ follower, and hopefully disciple, i dont want my family (my brothers and sisters in Christ) to be only thought of in the negative light of some Christians who need a greater revelation of the Father's love.
WE are not representing Christ when we promote hatred.
I dont fully understand the Muslims ways. I dont know any in close relationship. I dont want to be forced to give up my belief in Jesus to give in to anothers religious beliefs. and certainly, i do not want this nation or any other nation to be forced to only one religion. Even if that is Christianity.
God, our Holy Father, has given us free will, because His ways are perfect. He already knows the beginning from the end, and none of these diatribes shake Him.
Our Father
who art in heaven
Hallowed be Thy Name--Thy kingdom come-Thy will be done on Earth,
as it is in heaven.
give us this day our daily bread --
forgive us our trespasses - as we forgive those who trespass against us
Lead us not into temptation
but deliver us from evil
for Thine is the KINGDOM- THE POWER- AND THE GLORY-FOREVER!
and all God's people said....

I believe that is "zeal, but not according to knowledge". That leaves it up to the rest of us to be examples of His love and truth.
