Make-over

Today after work, it seemed like a great plan to get some of my Christmas shopping done. It is December 2 after all, and almost nothing has been accomplished. So, off i went, to one store after another. There were some ideas poking around in the back of my mind. They just kept alluding me when actually in a store. Finally, i stopped for coffee with a friend and after a good long chat, we stepped out together. Surely that would keep my focus. One present was purchased, so it was time to hit the cosmetic store for some stocking stuffers. HA! What a glorious amount of fun there can be in a wee little box of color! The beautiful young sales lady came over to help and I became helpless. I was putty in her hands. She took me over to the chair at the mirror and every few moments my face changed to a newer and more glamorous version of what was. Now, i'm not ugly, but when she finished there seemed to be a beauty there that i hadn't recently seen. As we keep to Isaiah 9, we see the Lord our LORD changing a Nation, making the entire area glorious and magestic. Thinking of the young, beautiful sales clerk is nothing in comparison to our Jesus in all His Glory. She changed my looks but underneath, I am the same as before. Jesus, thru His unfailing love, has changed me from the inside. Maybe this is the reason I'm having such dificulty engaging in the Christmas purchases. Christ has purchased my life- He has redeemed me and the reality of that has finally sunk into my depths like no make-up or cream could possibly do. There's something emerging that i haven't recently seen. The Father of All has given me a make-over. May you open your heart to His make-over for you. Together, may we declare His glorious make-over for all Nations.
