Make-over
Today after work, it seemed like a great plan to get some of my Christmas shopping done. It is December 2 after all, and almost nothing has been accomplished. So, off i went, to one store after another. There were some ideas poking around in the back of my mind. They just kept alluding me when actually in a store.
Finally, i stopped for coffee with a friend and after a good long chat, we stepped out together. Surely that would keep my focus. One present was purchased, so it was time to hit the cosmetic store for some stocking stuffers.
HA!
What a glorious amount of fun there can be in a wee little box of color!
The beautiful young sales lady came over to help and I became helpless. I was putty in her hands. She took me over to the chair at the mirror and every few moments my face changed to a newer and more glamorous version of what was.
Now, i'm not ugly, but when she finished there seemed to be a beauty there that i hadn't recently seen.
As we keep to Isaiah 9, we see the Lord our LORD changing a Nation, making the entire area glorious and magestic. Thinking of the young, beautiful sales clerk is nothing in comparison to our Jesus in all His Glory. She changed my looks but underneath, I am the same as before.
Jesus, thru His unfailing love, has changed me from the inside.
Maybe this is the reason I'm having such dificulty engaging in the Christmas purchases. Christ has purchased my life- He has redeemed me and the reality of that has finally sunk into my depths like no make-up or cream could possibly do. There's something emerging that i haven't recently seen.
The Father of All has given me a make-over.
May you open your heart to His make-over for you.
Together, may we declare His glorious make-over for all Nations.

2011
Well! Hello
It's been a year all right!
Where I dont long to go into my account of what has been, people everywhere are telling me about the tough times they have been thru. My own journey has been no exception.
That's why- it a great time to look forward.
Let the sun set on this season, as we look forward to dawn of a new day.
"...reaching forward to what lies ahead." Phillipians 3:13-
And that's what ADVENT is all about.
"Advent" means coming or arrival.
I am so looking forward to the arrival of this coming season. Not just the Season of Advent, but the Season of the coming year and the Hope of what Christ has in store for us.
Join me, if you like, as I go thru this Advent season with a reading plan from YouVersion.com.
"Christmas Begins With Christ"
Day 1- a reading from Isaiah 9. It's a common place to begin this season.
If we look into the entire chapter we see some things that aren't as pleasant as the Hope found in Christ. Yet even in the devastation in these later verses, we see ourselves mirrored.
I'm no theologian, but my heart tells me that our Heavenly Father desires us to see what turning from Him can bring, while in His great love, He reminds our hearts of His promise of hope.
In Isaiah's time, that Hope had not yet come. For some today, hope seems far away.
But look ahead with me- if you can. If you can only look down, look at your hands. My prayer, is that as you do, you will see the Miracle of how God has formed you. You are special and one of a kind.
May Jesus' Light shine upon you and may the burdon you have been carrying, be removed.
In the YouVersion post it tells of Tikapur, Nepal. A community transformed by the love and the hope of Christ Jesus. 40 years ago there were only 2 believers, now over 900.
You may think "I can't wait that long to see transformation!"
-but KNOW that
"He who began a good work in you (is faithful and) will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus." Phil 1:6
That's looking forward to His Second Arrival
May the Prince of Peace fill your heart with JOY
